This image series shows the relationship between the radius and ulna.

As you examine the series note the following:

1. Proximally, in the area of the elbow joint, the ulna is CAUDAL and slightly MEDIAL to the radius.

3. Proximally, in the area of the elbow joint, the radius is CRANIAL and slightly LATERAL to the ulna.

4. Through the forearm, the radius and ulna CROSS EACH OTHER OBLIQUELY so that in the distal antebrachium:
...a. the radius is MEDIAL to the ulna
...b. the ulna is LATERAL to the radius

5. In the distal forearm, the radius is CRANIAL to the ulna.
