The scapula and humerus articulate to form the SHOULDER JOINT. The humerus, radius, and ulna articulate to form the ELBOW JOINT. The region of the front limb between the shoulder and elbow joint is referred to as the BRACHIUM or ARM. The CARPUS is a group of soft tissues and CARPAL BONES distal to the radius and ulna and proximal to the metacarpus. The region of the front limb between the elbow joint and the carpus is referred to as the ANTEBRACHIUM or the FOREARM. Distal to the carpus (containing carpal bones) is the METACARPUS (containing soft tissues and METACARPAL BONES). The DIGITS are distal to the metacarpus. The part of the front limb distal to and including the carpus is called the FOREPAW or MANUS.
